Juri Arisugawa is my favourite character from Revolutionary Girl Utena because I identify deeply with her and her struggles. She pines for Shiori, and Shiori knows this, and enjoys toying with Juri's feelings. Juri feels lonely, angry, and longs for what she can never have. As a fellow heartbroken lesbian, I can feel and empathise with her pain, and I see myself in her. It felt uplifting at the end of the show because instead of getting together with Shiori or a man, Juri is still single, yet clearly gay. This spoke to me because I tend to worry that if I'm not dating a girl, I'm not really a lesbian. So Juri and her story is very personal to me. She's also very beautiful, and I wish she'd kiss me...
