俺の体はボロボロだ!
Kamen Rider Blade is the fifth Heisei Kamen Rider show, and it fucking rules. It's weird, the cinematography is bizarre, the acting is ridiculous ('My body is falling apart!') and yet despite this - or because of it - Blade is incredibly memorable. The melodramatic tragedy surrounding Hajime, and the found family of the four main riders comes together to be one of my favourite rider shows.
My favourite thing about Blade is that it balances insanity with genuine tragedy. On one side, it's incredibly memeable. Tachibana falls for villainous lies again and again,
soaking in seaweed to raise his strength. Hajime makes silly expressions, skirting homoeroticism with Kenzaki. And Leangle, the 'strongest rider', is the weakest rider for the
entire show, either under the thumb of an Undead or held back by his low self esteem. And yet despite the silliness, Blade has incredible heart. Hajime's destiny is tragic,
and Kenzaki's refusal to seal him creates an ending that rips your soul to shreds. It's this perfect combination that makes me love it so entirely.
